Current Problems
Although topic pages aggregate large volumes of content, they are not effectively converting consumption into participation.

Then I defined 4 design directions from there, focusing on shifting user behavior from passive consumption to active participation.
Increase Topic Immersion
Reduce distractions and drive discussion.
Strengthen topic identity to spark discussion.
Simplify Navigation
Remove redundant navigation paths。
Prioritize topic-based exploration over generic browsing。
Lower Participation Barriers
Reduce friction in the posting flow.
Make participation effortless and instant.
Encourage Active Browsing
Shift from linear to exploratory browsing.
Increase visibility of multiple contents at once.

Decision 01: Dual-Column Layout
To improve participation in UGC topics, I introduced a dual-column layout to enable more efficient browsing and increasing exposure to diverse posts, which lowers the barrier for users to engage and contribute.

I de-emphasizes search and simplifies tabs to highlight topic categories, strengthening focus and immersion within the topic.

I redesigned the topic entry as a CTA-style component to differentiate it from other elements and encourage users to enter and engage with the topic.
